When they function properly, window blinds constitute a practical means of controlling the amount of light that enters a room. HunterDouglas Honeycomb blinds are solid -- they're not louvered -- so HunterDouglas Honeycomb blinds have one pull cord that enables raising and lowering of the blinds and none for changing louver angles. Replacing the pull cord is a two-stage process that involves removing the blinds, disassembling them and then inserting the new cord.

Remove and Disassemble the Blinds

Pull on the cord to raise the blinds all the way up. Skip this step if the cord is not functioning properly.

Loosen the tab screws located on the bottom of each mounting bracket. The mounting brackets are the holsters the blinds ends sit in.

Tilt the back of the headrail downward, then slide the headrail out of the bracket. The headrail is the piece from which the blinds hang.

Pry the cord lock cover and the cord lock out of the headrail with a flat-head screwdriver. Both pieces are located on the top outside corner of the headrail.

Cut the pull cords and pull them out through the cord lock.

Pry open the stop ball. The stop ball is the plastic piece that hangs at the bottom of the pull cord.

Pull out and discard the equalizer and the pull cords, then remove the cords from the blinds. How you go about removing the cords from the blinds will vary depending on which HunterDouglas Honeycomb model you have. If your blinds use a pocket-and-ferrule system, pull the cord downward from the pocket to release the ferrule, and then slide the cord out. If your blinds use a washer system, remove the end cap from the bottom rail, remove the rails from the fabric, and then remove the cords.

Select your cord guides from the replacement kit. Two types of cord guides are provided. Pick the ones that most closely match the width of your blinds.

Line up the thin metal filler strip in the top cell of the fabric stack so that it's flush with the end of the fabric stack. Also make sure the rout holes in the filler strip are lined up with the holes in the fabric stack.

Press the cord guide tab through the hole in the top cell and filler strip of the top headrail cell.

Extend the headrail cells to verify that the filler strip and bottom cell drop free from the cord guide.

Measure and cut your new cord. The length to which you cut the replacement cord varies depending on the style of your HunterDouglas blinds. For Stop-Ball A and B Honeycomb blinds, the required cord length is equal to the height of the blinds plus the width of the blinds plus 24 inches. If you have Block-and-Tackle style Honeycomb blinds, your cord length should be two times the shade height, plus the shad with plus 24 inches.

Insert your new cord. Download full metal panic season 3 sub indo. Push the threading tool up through the blinds, insert the new cord through the loop in the threading tool, and pull the threading tool through the fabric stack.

Secure the lift cord. For blinds with washer systems, thread the end of the new pull cord through one of the washers provided in the replacement kit. Pull the cord taut and tie a triple knot. For blinds with pocket-and-ferrule systems, insert the pocket into the hole and press it snug against the bottom rail. Remove the ferrule and thread it onto the new pull cord. Loop the cord around the ferrule, thread it through the ferrule, and leave a few inches of cord projecting from the ferrule. Tighten the loop on the ferrule and press the ferrule into its pocket.

Reassemble the blinds and reinstall the headrail.

- Pull cords can be a choking hazard. Always keep the cords of your blinds tied up high so that they are out of reach of children.
